Hello!!  Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I truly appreciate your support. Every donation, big or small, makes a huge impact. My goal is to raise $7,000 in honor of the seven incredible years that Live Oak has been part of my life.

From the moment I attended an info session years ago—while searching for opportunities for my students—I knew I had found something special. Live Oak is pure magic and I feel grateful every day I get to be a part of it.  

Live Oak is more than just a summer camp.  While summer camp is the entry point for kids at Live Oak, during the school year we have gatherings to stay connected with families and continue to build the relationships that begin at camp.  We go on national and international backpacking trips.  We have monthly leadership seminars for our high schoolers, go on college visits, help wtih college applications, connect young people with internships, enroll kids in financial literacy course and give them a stipend to invest, offer free tutoring and then give them money for attending--the list goes on.  All this and we offer hundreds of thousands of dollars each year in scholarships (over $625K to be exact!).  

But hands down my favorite part of Live Oak is the community I have and the people who are in it.  That's Zander, FeFe and Dejah' in my photo.  With them, I have shared meals under the stars, laughed until I've almost peed my pants, taken Wilderness First Responder courses with them, and watched them grow from campers to to coaches in traing to coaches to directors.  I wish I could blink you into the moments the your donations help create so you could see what impact you are making by giving today.  For now you'll have to trust me, and I'll continue to share stories with you and pay it all foward to my Live Oak family!

Between January 2024 and June 2025, our Live Oak team is raising $1m (!) to support our growth and expansion, including an increase in camper enrollment of up to 50% as we move to our new site.

How your funds will be put to work

Live Oak’s work supports five strategic investment areas: Summer Camp, Wilderness Adventures, Gatherings, Year Round Growth Experiences, and Beyond Camp Support. See more about their recent impact in our 2024 End of Year Recap.

This $1m campaign will fuel major investments across our organizational priorities:

• $500,000 to increase our Scholarships for Summer Camp and Wilderness Adventures for youth ages 7-16.

• $250,000 to expand our Year Round Growth Experiences throughout middle and high school years.

• $250,000 to scale up our Beyond Camp Supports for hundreds of oldest campers and alumni in high school and college.
